Welcome to Permutation City

Automatic¬Surreal¬Technological¬Experimental¬

Permutation City is an Automatic and Techno Surrealist Writing community that has been set up to explore ecclectic writers and word-artists on the internet. We are relatively new, but hope to gain in numbers as time progresses.

[Genesis]

Having an initial genesis in Surrealism and the automatic writing teachings of Andre Breton , this community also draws on modern technological orientated writers such as Jeff Noon and Greg Egan amongst others in order to form a new collective for experimental writing. Permutation City looks towards the furthering of the artistic styles that can be found in the modern day word, and works that look towards the future of cultural progression. We are interested in utilising Techno-Surrealism, an aspect of the surrealist movement focusing on the extreme uses of technology within the modern world (which was also formulated in part by Michael Moorcocks New Worlds magazine during the 1970's); but all automatic and experimental writings will be accepted no matter the form.

</b>This is not a strictly poetry journal, and writers are encouraged to explore all forms of modern writing, including prose, short story and spoken word form - this means that this can also be a journal where you can link to your spoken word and word-audio performances that are located elsewhere on the internet if you so choose.</font></p>

We wish to establish a vibrant community of individuals, and there will also be plans for further extentions of this site. Eventually, Permutation City will be used as the opening page for a new website based on the ideas put forth in this &quot;manifesto&quot;. Where it goes from there, who knows, but the creator of this community (Facter) is currently at work on several publishing endeavours, including the eventual launch of a quarterly Internet and Print journal based on these ideas - for which we may even draw on contents included here. The community is also looking for serial writings from people; intelligent and experimental pieces written in a continuous form over time - in this way, a semblance of continuity can also be placed into the community.</font></p>

We are particularly fond of technological writers, that is, writers whose experimental literature is orientated around modern and post-modern and future-modern technological themes (ie, writings in programming

</b>There are resources within the community page, such as links to various areas of interst to also give an idea as to what the page is about and what the aim of it is. We aim to expand this resources section to include several different areas, not merely just a list of interesting links, that can assist you in your endeavours within Permutation.</font></p>
